G2studio is run by two partners, both called Graham, with over 60 years of hotel design experience between them and a passion that has grown with the years! The studio specialises in high quality hotel and resort design and masterplanning, with a particular specialisation in the front-end development planning and conceptual design. This brings together commercial and social objectives to predict the future and respond to market demands, create visionary ideas and so maximise opportunities. G2studio is an agile and design orientated studio with a highly personalised service. The energy and vision is particularly well suited to more ambitious clients who wish to push boundaries to achieve excellence. G2 selects work carefully to ensure that it is ideally suited to any project it undertakes so that it can service effectively.

    Graham Applin


    Graham Applin is an architect with over twenty-five years of experience working on large scale architectural, master planning, urban design and interior design projects internationally with a career based in London, South East Asia and the South Pacific. Graham has worked in a variety of sectors including large scale masterplanning, mixed use projects, leisure and tourism, retail and high density residential. Having started in banking and later becoming a property developer, Graham has a keen grasp of commercial realities of the property industry and the built environment. Graham has very strong conceptual design and masterplanning skills and a commitment to sustainability. Before joining Beca he ran his own practice and was the architectural consultant to Aecom’s Global Leisure and Culture team.

    Graham Crust is an architect with almost 30 years’ professional experience across a range of sectors with a specific focus in leisure, hospitality & luxury retail. Educated in the UK, he has played a key role in projects in New Zealand and Australia ranging in scale up to $330m. Focusing on project initiation, 6 client liaison and research, Graham advocates for the relentless pursuit of design quality coupled to pragmatic, workable solutions and efficient implementation. His work also includes commercial, educational, community and transport related buildings; Several of his projects are award winning with two recent projects shortlisted as top ten in their category at the World Architecture Festival. His recent award-winning work on the Manukau Bus Station, Chelsea Visitors Experience Centre, Emerson’s Brewery and New Plymouth Airport Terminal have honed his focus on optimising the customer journey to provide frictionless and elegant experiences. Graham understands the complex roles required to achieve the coordination of a wide range of client user groups, professional consultants, public bodies and construction administrators in addition to overseeing and coordinating large and internationally based design teams.
