The Mondrian hotel on Gore is a 39 storey, 315 key hotel located in Downtown Auckland close to the waterfront beside its sister hotel the SO by Sofitel. The hotel was originally designed as a Novotel ,but the design upgrades and replanning introduced by G2 Studio led to its being taken up by SBE for the prestigious Mondrian brand - the first in the southern hemisphere.

The design incorporates a triple height lobby and a double height sky bar with a roof-top pool and deck. The building is distinguished by its curved projecting façade and large modulated screen which was inspired by an ‘Issey Miyake’ fashion design.
